A Little Bit About Me
Born and raised in London, my heart belongs to this city so leaving it is out of the question.
I’m a writer by profession and worked heavily in journalism, writing for magazines and newspapers in sports, lifestyle, beauty, food, music, entertainment and travel. It’s my goal to write a book but believe it or not, I’m finding it hard! I really enjoy my job which is difficult to explain and often a dry and challenging field but working with wonderful people really makes a difference and no one day is the same.
I feel fulfilled in my life except there is one vital piece missing and that’s finding true companionship. I’ve never been married and yes, I’m over the age of 25 but this doesn’t mean alarm bells. Alhamdulilah I look younger to my age (no greys!). But seriously, I think it takes a strong minded person to not settle for the sake of it or what society dictates. My role models are my parents who were happily married for 43 years until my father passed away in 2017. They had a successful union and I base my marriage goals on them.
I have strong morals and am not looking for someone to provide for me or pay for a lifestyle. This is not how I have been raised. Every day I’m trying to improve and increase my deen. I pray 5 times a day, have been on umrah numerous times (not hajj yet), keep all my fasts and would like to learn and do more.
It’s really important for me to meet someone who shares the same outlook and together we can become stronger. I believe I have a good balance of eastern and western values.
I come from a small family and am fortunate to have a trusting, open and honest relationship with my parents. It’s just me, my mum, my brother and my cat. My cat is part of the family and has really helped keep us together after dad’s passing. He really is brilliant (if not grumpy looking).
I love cooking and baking, and enjoy feeding friends and family. Other things I like are photography, home improvement and decor, the theatre, eating out (I’m a foodie), reading, watching films, running, swimming, road trips, days out...some things aren’t as much fun to do alone though.
I have been seriously looking to settle down for 10 years (!) and sincerely hope it’s Allah’s will for me to meet my life partner very soon.
Anyone under the age of 38-39 and over 44, please don’t message me - neither anyone with kids or those who dislike cats or are allergic to them. I am being honest and upfront so please respect my wishes. I am serious about settling down and getting married, and doing things the halal way.

What I Am Looking For
I am seeking a kindred spirit who shares my sense of adventure but is also loyal, supportive, encouraging, honest, positive, grounded and with a wicked sense of humour. He must also love cats. Fussy eaters need not apply!
